The UN Global Compact has released a Moving Business Forward Faster: 2024 Trends & Insights Report highlighting key insights from the Forward Faster initiative, a global platform designed to accelerate credible and ambitious corporate action. Now, one year into the initiative, the report provides a clear roadmap for companies committed to sustainability, focusing on areas where they can collectively make the biggest and fastest impact by 2030.

With commitments from over 1,700 companies, the Forward Faster 2024 Trends & Insights Report offers a snapshot of how businesses are staying ahead of the curve, driving progress, and moving us forward—faster—toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Highlights from the Report:

• SDG Finance as a Catalyst: Sustainable finance is enabling broader SDG commitments. Out of 455 companies that made sustainable finance commitments, 151 are actively driving action across all key action areas.
• Transparency Rising: Companies are increasingly moving away from ‘greenhushing’ and embracing transparency in sustainability commitments, driven by investor and consumer expectations.
• Gender Equality Gaps: Equal pay and representation targets are advancing, but key emerging markets still lag in making these commitments.
• Living Wage Leadership: A total of 275 companies have adopted both Living Wage targets, showing growing awareness of the need to address wage disparities within their operations and across supply chains.
• Water Resilience Focus in the Global South: 60% of companies committed to water resilience are based in regions facing acute water challenges.
