IAFN Becomes an Observer of the FAST Partnership
IAFN is pleased to announce that it has joined as an observer the FAST Partnership, a multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at catalysing and accelerating the transformation of agriculture and food systems by 2030. This partnership is key in addressing global challenges related to climate change and food security.
About FAST
FAST (Food and Agriculture for Sustainability and Transformation) was launched at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, with the main goal of enhancing climate finance contributions to the transformation of agrifood systems. Since then, the Partnership has focused on supporting climate action efforts in agriculture, maintaining a 1.5-degree climate pathway, and ensuring food and livelihoods for farmers and vulnerable communities.
Who’s Involved
The FAST Partnership includes a wide range of members, such as governments, intergovernmental organizations, UN agencies, civil society organizations, youth and farmers’ organizations, and global and regional networks. FAO serves as the host for the partnership’s Task Force and facilitates its work.
IAFN’s Role in the FAST Partnership
IAFN’s involvement in the FAST partnership adds a new collaboration that reinforces the mutual and productive partnership between FAO and IAFN, which already includes important programs such as the Women’s Accelerator Mentorship Programme for Women-led SMEs. As an observer in the Partnership, IAFN aims to:
- Provide expert insights from the private sector on key issues related to climate finance, sustainable agriculture, and food systems.
- Facilitate the exchange of best practices and innovative solutions to support the goals of the Partnership.
- Strengthen public-private collaboration to drive sustainable and resilient food systems forward.
This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in IAFN’s commitment to advancing sustainable
