CFS – Events
The meeting brought together over 140 delegates, including Ambassadors, CEOs, NGO representatives, and leaders from the Rome-based agencies and the World Bank. The theme of the dinner was “Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals and Partnerships for Implementation”.

Talent Development – Side Event
On October 13, 2015, Bayer CropScience, Future Farmers Network Australia, and 4-H Canada hosted a side event focused on different ways that public/private and civil society groups can collaborate to increase societal understanding and awareness of the challenges facing modern agriculture and their respective roles in sustainably feeding a hungry planet. The side event aimed to stress the need to empower youth to build networks and advocate on behalf of agriculture as a career.

On October 14, 2015, Mars, Inc., the Republic of Liberia, Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa, and the Republic of Ghana hosted a side event focused on Multi-Sector Partnerships as drivers of Food Safety solutions that can increase food availability, improve health and enhance economic status. Panelists discussed food safety, the impacts of food contamination on food security, and possible solutions.

Food Security – Side Event
on October 14, 2015, Cargill, FAO, and IFAD hsoted a side-event discussing how the public and private sectors can work together to address honoring comparative trust-based trade to support food security and nutrition. The discussions focused on how collaboration between stakeholders is key to finding solutions to hunger; ensuring safe, nutritious and affordable food for all. The panelists provided insight into how farmers can be better supported to plant the best crops for their growing conditions and then trade the surpluses whilst ensuring their own household food security and nutrition.
