The Private Sector Mechanism is very excited to announce a series of events that will take place throughout 2022. Please save the date, more information on the events will be announced closer to the date of each. Please note that with regards to any in-person events, the Secretariat will be closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and adjust events as needed. Gender Roundtable
7 April, 2022, 15:00 to 16:30 CET (virtual)

Please mark your calendars for the PSM 2022 Gender Roundtable, “Business Accelerating Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment in Food Systems.” The roundtable will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 15:00 to 16:30 CET to showcase business initiatives and commitments in accelerating action for Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ empowerment in the context of Food Security and Nutrition.

This event will advance the objectives of the ongoing CFS process of developing the Voluntary Guidelines on Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment in the Context of Food Security and Nutrition (VGs on GEWE) to be adopted at CFS50 in October 2022. Three key themes will be explored: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Nutrition.

Youth Forum
Regional events in May and Global Forum May 26 (virtual)

Please save the date for the PSM 2022 Youth Forum, “Promoting Youth Engagement and Employment in Agriculture and Food Systems.” The Youth Forum will be organised around 5 Regional Dialogues and a Global Youth Forum in May. Guests are invited to join the dialogue that focuses on their region of interest; on the final day, we will convene all guests for a Global Youth Forum.

The events will be held on the following dates (Duration of each event will be 2 hours):

• Africa and Middle East Youth Dialogue: May 11, 10:00 Rome / 11:00 Nairobi
• Latin America Youth Dialogue: May 11, 18:00 Rome / 11:00 Mexico City
• Asia Youth Dialogue: May 13, 11:00 Rome / 14:30 Delhi / 17:00 Beijing
• Europe Youth Dialogue: May 25, 11:00 Rome
• North America and The Pacific Youth Dialogue: May 25, 23:00 Rome / 17:00 New York / 07:00 Melbourne
• Global Youth Forum: May 26, 14:00 Rome

The Youth Forum will be an opportunity to review regional case studies for a greater understanding of Youth in Food Systems; to feature their voice, their aspirations, and needs, and encourage participants to create partnerships and share knowledge, expertise, technology in their respective countries.


High-Level Dinner on Data & Science
11 October, 19:00 to 21:30 CET (in-person)

Please save the date for the PSM 2022 High-Level Dinner on Data and Science. The traditional High-Level Dinner will be held on Tuesday, October 11, (Cocktails – 19:00 and Dinner – 19:45) to showcase the potential for data collection and analysis to strengthen our Food Systems and the need to respond to the data gaps in agriculture through data-informed and scienced based policies for Food Security and better Nutrition.
The High-Level Dinner provides a forum for senior leadership from the private sector, UN organizations, civil society, and other sectors to interact with ambassadors and leaders from the Rome-based agencies and discuss current challenges.
Note: Should CFS not proceed in-person, the event will be converted to a digital dialogue
