PSM – COVID-19 – Position Paper – 2020
The global COVID pandemic has reminded everyone of the need to stay healthy and the primacy of access to food for food security. While the immediate problem has been access to food and the need for shelf stable foods, disruptions at borders and in supply chains may cause an echo in the food system with potentially disastrous effects.

IAFN – CFS Chair Statement on COVID-19 – 2020
As the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has spread to pandemic proportions over the last few weeks, I feel – in my role as Chair of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) – that we have both a moral and political obligation to initiate a proactive dialogue among our stakeholders on the implications and potential impacts of this pandemic on global food security and nutrition. As a Committee, our prompt and resolute action and messages must have one goal in mind: to urge as strongly as possible that all responsible leaders – in governments, business, academia, civil society, and elsewhere – do everything in their power to prevent this health crisis from becoming a food crisis. We saw such a scenario occur only a decade earlier when a financial crisis morphed into such a food crisis. We must avoid this from happening again, for the sake of our peoples and our planet. Sitting idly by is not an option.

IAFN – HLPE Impact Report of COVID-19 on Food Security and Nutrition – 2020
Given the very short notice of the CFS’s urgent request, and the fact that the present crisis is unprecedented in its scale, changing rapidly and with many unknowns, this document should be viewed as a preliminary discussion document aimed to help inform the CFS about the impact of COVID-19 on food security and nutrition (FSN) as currently perceived by HLPE. Following discussion with the Bureau and Advisory Group of the CFS, the HLPE anticipates further updates to this document as the situation evolves, as well as integrating the issue in the next HLPE Report: “Food security and nutrition: a global narrative towards 2030”.

IAFN – Bayer Response to COVID-19 – 2020
Bayer’s conduct is guided by the principle of “Health for All, Hunger for None”. In light of the developing COVID-19 situation, this is today truer than ever before. Bayer Pharma is well positioned to help contain the outbreak of COVID-19 and find a therapeutic against it. In close collaboration with authorities, industry partners, and other stakeholders, we are mobilizing resources to provide relief in the short term and find a suitable therapeutic in the medium term. In particular, we are engaged in financial and product donations, research cooperations, ensuring medicinal supply, and community support.

IAFN – SG Policy Brief on COVID Impact on Food Security – 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic is a health and human crisis threatening the food security and nutrition of millions of people around the world. Hundreds of millions of people were already suffering from hunger and malnutrition before the virus hit and, unless immediate action is taken, we could see a global food emergency. In the longer term, the combined effects of COVID-19 itself, as well as corresponding mitigation measures and the emerging global recession could, without large-scale coordinated action, disrupt the functioning of food systems. Such disruption can result in consequences for health and nutrition of a severity and scale unseen for more than half a century
