CFS and the UN Standing Committee on Nutrition (UNSCN) are cohosting two events in May which will help develop a common understanding of nutrition issues and lay the basis for CFS policy convergence work. Both can be followed by webcast. Find out more

Also a call for good practices aimed at understanding how policies and investments can improve nutrition through healthier food systems is running on the FSN Forum until 15 May 2017. You are invited to share experiences and examples to help identify lessons learned and good practices on investments that promote healthy food systems, including those implemented through South-South and triangular exchanges.


Launch of expert’s report on sustainable forestry for food security and nutrition

At CFS 44 the key topic of Sustainable Forestry for Food Security and Nutrition is on the agenda. The CFS High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) will launch their evidence based report which can also be followed by webcast:

Between July and September CFS stakeholders will review and discuss the evidence presented in the report in order to reach agreement on a set of policy recommendations to be endorsed at CFS 44.


2030 Agenda: the CFS contribution to the High Level Political Forum 2017

The High Level Political Forum is the UN’s central platform for follow up and review of the 2030 Agenda. CFS has submitted its contribution for the 2017 review.


Save the date! Empowering women for food security and nutrition

CFS will hold a Forum on Women’s Empowerment in the Context of Food Security and Nutrition on Monday 25 September 2017 at FAO Rome, HQ. The Forum will discuss the challenges in the economic empowerment of women and help promote a shared understanding of how those issues are evolving in the agriculture and agri-food sectors.
