FAO and CEMA join forces - initial focus is on capacity building in Africa
FAO and the European Agricultural Machinery Industry Association CEMA , an international non-profit organisation, today forged a new partnership that aims to promote wider use of sustainable agricultural mechanization in developing countries.
Robynne Anderson represented the IAFN on the panel of the side-event on Oceans 14: Implementing the Samoa Pathway and SDG 14 by SIDS through Public-Private Partnerships, organized by the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands, in collaboration with the United Nations Office of the High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS).
Following on from the highly successful global summit on food fortification earlier this month, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network and Devex are hosting a unique high level panel event today, September 24, 2015, to tie in with the United Nations 70th General Assembly. The event will be live streamed throughout.
On September 2nd, 2015, the FAO and MasterCard signed a partnership agreement that will pave the way for a collaborative effort to develop inclusive payment systems to support small-scale farmers and poor families.
The two organizations will explore different ways to provide credit or money to households for purchases of basic needs and family inputs on local markets. This will support local economies and put financial tools in the hands of economically marginalized communities.
