HLPF: synthesis report of the 2016 voluntary national reviews
The 2016 meeting of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) took place from 11 to 20 July 2016 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. 22 countries presented voluntary national reviews (VNRs) of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, and particularly the sustainable development goals (SDGs), over a day and a half during the Ministerial Segment of the HLPF under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The HLPF will review Goal 2 in 2017 among other Goals. Given the undiscussable link between hunger and poverty and its impacts across the Agenda 2030, IAFN hopes there will be higher attention and stronger discussions of agriculture, nutrition and food in 2017.
