Call for good practices and lessons learned on food security and nutrition policy implementation in Europe and Central Asia

FAO’s Project Developing Capacity for Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Selected Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia, in collaboration with the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, has launched a Call for good practices and lessons learned on food security and nutrition policy implementation in the Europe and Central Asia region.

Many countries in Europe and Central Asia have made significant socio-economic progress and are increasingly looking for ideas, successful experiences and lessons learned related to food security and nutrition initiatives in their own region.

The contributions received through this call will feed into an FAO publication on the implementation of food security and nutrition policies and inter-sectoral coordination mechanisms in Europe and Central Asia. The publication will provide examples for introducing new or improving existing development models, and will in particular focus on:

  • sustainable food systems for improved nutrition;
  • school food and nutrition programs linked to the agricultural sector;
  • nutrition sensitive social protection programs; and
  • governance and accountability for nutrition.

In addition, a selection of the submissions will be included in the programme of the Regional Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition in Europe and Central Asia, which will take place in December 2017.

The call is being hosted on the FSN Forum in Europe and Central Asia, where the submissions will be made available. The deadline is 31 October 2017.

Share your examples and experiences using the submission form.

Please visit the webpage to read the submission guidelines and to download the template. You can upload your completed form to the website or send it to FSN-moderator@fao.org
