The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Throughout the Sustainable Development Goals process, the International Agri-Food Network has been engaged in the negotiations. As part of the Global Business Alliance, we have placed a priority on the 5 Ps: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership.

The SDGs place People-centred approaches at the core of the development aspirations of the UN. Agriculture programs are needed that are ‘farmer-centred and knowledge-based’ so that the full potential of farmers, both men and women can be harnessed. Farmers need access to land, water, knowledge, inputs, and credit to grow a crop and functioning markets to sell their products.

It starts with primary producers and touches every person on the planet.

Business for 2030 / Partnerships for SDGs

The Agenda 2030 is an excellent opportunity for the private sector to demonstrate the central role it plays in the eradication of hunger. Given that Goal 2 will be one of the seven Goals to be reviewed during the 2017 HLPF, all PSM members are invited to submit case-studies of approximately 1-2 pages in length, that comply with the UN’s SMART criteria (specific, measurable, achievable, resource-based, with time-bound deliveries) and are related primarily to Goal 2 and its targets.

Members are invited to upload them to the Business for 2030 website here:
