As part of their renewed, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Ethical Corporation will collaborate around providing insight to corporations on how to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into business strategy at the upcoming Responsible Business Summit Europe. 

The double burden of malnutrition (DBM) affects at least a quarter of all countries worldwide, with low and middle income countries bearing the greatest burden due to lack of capacity to tackle the problem. DBM connotes a complex situation where food insecurity, micronutrient deficiencies, undernutrition and infectious diseases, as well as overweight, obesity and related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) coexist in countries, communities and households, and even in the same individual.

A Partnership of UNICEF, WHO, and the World Bank Group has released new joint estimates for child stunting, overweight, underweight, wasting and severe wasting (May 2018 edition) using the same methodology as in previous years. These new estimates supersede former analyses results published by UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank Group. Note the entire time series is updated; for assessing changes over time, comparisons should be made based on the update time series.

14 May 2018: WHO today released REPLACE, a step-by-step guide for the elimination of industrially-produced trans-fatty acids from the global food supply. Eliminating trans fats is key to protecting health and saving lives: WHO estimates that every year, trans fat intake leads to  more than 500,000 deaths of people from cardiovascular disease.
