Commit to Grow Equality – Calling for Commitments

Launched at the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women on 13 March 2024, the FAO’s initiative Commit to Grow Inequality aims to provide a mechanism for leaders from all sectors to step forward and announce concrete commitments that will make a tangible difference in the lives of women and girls in agrifood systems. With little more than five years left to achieve the SDGs, we agreed that it is important to make a bold and visible push to support the transformation of lives and livelihoods of women and girls everywhere.

This overview document outlines the background and objectives of the CGE global commitment process. Additionally, this updated Commitments Matrix offers the opportunity for stakeholders to make commitments across a spectrum of crucial areas where evidence suggests that there are opportunities to meaningfully advance gender equality in support of the SDGs.

To articulate your commitment, FAO has invited stakeholders to use an online form. You can select commitments your organization or government plans to align to and provide an initial sense of how your commitment will be worded.
